Michael, was the son of Bruno Segich and Charlotte (Ware) Segich of Stumptown, Osceola Mills Pennsylvania, the dear brother of Patricia Pedrazzani, Darlene and Linda Segich. In Vietnam he was assigned to and served with Company B, 1st MP Battalion,
1st Force Service Regiment, 3d Division, (Rein) FMF.
During the month of May the 1st MP Battalion was located in Da Nang with operations thought it's area of responsibly included extensive patrolling and ambushes. On May 12, an ambush site approximately 1 kilometer west of Marble Mountain was set in
place when Marine accidently discharged his weapon. The missile stuck LCpl Segich in his back and killed the young Marine.
